Sister.

My sister Karin is truly a source of inspiration.

Early on we used to fight a lot (after the whole “we’re kids and we’re friends cos we’re kids”-period). I’m the younger brother and yes – she was stronger than me. Later on we became friends. And when she started her band with her friends she became my hero.

She used to force me to listen (well she played it loud in her room) to all sorts of strange music which I obviously hated in the beginning but later of course adored.

She made me realize that there are a lot of music out there. I remember the feeling when I understood the music she liked. Tori Amos. Rush. Ha Ha, I remember when I found my sisters cassette with Iron Maiden and I listened to the intro of the tape 100 million times (I suppose it was ‘Fear Of The Dark’). Up until that day I had officially hated “Heavy Metal Music”.

Well, my sister has always supported me and I think she might own more records with my music than I do.

So as a little homage I’ll give you this song that I love and that I wish that I had wrote.

Norway has absolutely nothing to do with anything, we’re from Sweden. I just fucking love this song.

Ohh, then I remember mom playing a record with Pink Floyd (a live recording of “One of these days”) and I just thought: well that´s some fucked up music but I like it. I also remember that old Leonard Cohen tape my parents had. I listened to it all day long everyday. First we take Manhattan… Goddamn, that’s a good song. I also remember the song “Gone fishing” by Chris Rea. That was my favorite track on the cassette my dad had in the car. I suppose I liked that he used words I could understand. I specially like the line “I’m going fishing, it sounds crazy I know, I know nothing about fishing, but just watch me go”.

I guess that somehow sums me up quite well by now. I don’t know much, but I try my best.

I’m going fishing.

Just watch me go.
